The next day they went to the movies. They catch an early show because of 'Oliver!" which wasn't a problem to them. When the movie was over Davy walked her to her aunt's house. When they were in front of her aunt's house and before they said good night, Davy finally kissed her on the lips. They said good night. Molly walked in the house with the famous Jackson goofy and in love look. As she walked to the bedroom, she ignored any and all questions about the night. She was in another world and no one was going to be able to take her out of it. When she got to the room she screamed, "Woo hoo!"
Everyone thought, "They did."
They saw each other whenever they could. She even went to a couple showings of 'Oliver!' because Davy had reserved a ticket for her. Then one day Davy came over to her aunts unannounced. Heather answered the door.
"Hello Davy," Heather said then she spotted what he had in his hands, "She's in the kitchen."
Davy crept up behind Molly, then wrapped his arms around his arms around her and gave her a kiss on the neck. She smiled at what she saw. She grabbed the flowers and turned around to look at Davy.
"They're beautiful Davy," Molly said.
"I know and so are you," Davy said.
"Awe, Davy that so sweet of you. How'd you know I like Tiger Lilies?" Molly asked.
"I asked around," Davy said. "Thank you, Davy," She said kissing him.
"Your welcome, luv."
Heather walked into the kitchen.
"Look, Aunt Heather what Davy brought me," Molly said.
"I know I saw them when I let Davy in," Heather said taking the flowers and putting them in a vase with water.
"Ready to go. I have a surprise for you."
"Surprise. What kind of surprise?"
"If I told you it wouldn't be a surprise, now would it?"
A friend of Davy's had to drive them to the country. Their destination was a farm. The got out and walked to the stables. When they reached the stables, Molly seen that the horses were already had their tack on. Davy could see the excitement and surprise in her face.
"Davy, how did you?" Molly asked.
"I 'ad to pull some strings. I asked a friend of mine to pull this off. I thought you would like this," Davy said.
"I do," Molly said.
When they got to the horses, Davy showed her to the horse she was going to ride.
Davy said, "This is Takoma. Isn't she a beauty?"
"Yes, she is. Hi Takoma," Molly said to the horse and petting her.
Then Molly put her nose in the nostril of the horse and breathed in and out through her nose. Davy gave her a weird look and asked, "What are you doing?"
"I can't remember what it's called, but when you breathe through your nose into the horses they get you sent and remember it. It will help them remember you years later if you never see them again. I learned that from the woman who gave me lessons. I'm surprised you didn't know that," Molly said.
"That's interesting."
Molly walks around Takoma along the way to let her know she's there. She checks out the horse. She brushes the horses main and other things to earn the horses trust in a short time.
"Are you ready," Molly asked.
"Yeah, do you need any help mounting?"
"No," Molly said as she got on the horse.
"Ok"
After she got on the horse she said, "I need a helmet."
"Don't worry. Let me get them," Davy said.
Davy came back with the helmets, handed one to Molly. Molly put hers on. Once Davy had his on, he got his horse. Davy told her to follow him. Molly rode next to Davy. A few times he sped to see if she could keep up and to see what she could do. When they were close to where they were going, she seen something up ahead that Davy had set up. Davy led her to a clearing where he planned on having a picnic. They got off their horses, lead to a near by fence and tied the reigns to a fence post.
When they sat down on the blanket Molly said, "I can't believe you planned a picnic. I really love it though."
"I know I can be unpredictable sometimes, luv," Davy said with a laugh.
When they ate lunch, they talked and laughed about things like friends, family, and school.
"And so when I finally got to class me geography teacher asked why I was late. I said I got lost," Davy said.
"Ha-ha. That was great and better than anything I have done," Molly said.
"Like what?"
Molly sat there and tried to think of something she's done without her powers.
"Um, well, I hang out with guys at and get into wrestling matches with them during recess or egg them on for a one-on-one game of basketball. Then winning the game and sometimes they want a rematch because of their bruised ego. Also where I don't act like most girls, the other girls think I'm weird. I might out smart a teacher time to time and act like a smart aleck from time to time," Molly said.
"You are right about two things. One, my story is better. Two, you are different from most girls but that's why I like you."
"You like me, what do y-"
But before she could finish what she was saying Davy kissed. They kissed for long time occasionally stopping for some air. They cleaned everything up. Rod the horses back to the stable. They took the tack off the horses and led them back to the horses. Molly found the brushes and started to brush Takoma.
"Your wonderful with horses," Davy said, "You have the best manner with a horse."
"Thank you," Molly said as she handed Davy one of the brushes she found.
"When we are done we can take the horses to the corral," Davy said.
Soon they were done brushing the horses and they lead the horses to the corral.
"Ready to go?" Davy asked.
"Not really, but I will," Molly said.
"Let me get our ride," Davy said.
Davy walked to the man who brought them there. He told him they were ready to go.
"Have a great time?" Davy's friend asked.
"Yeah," Davy said.
"She seems really nice," his friend said.
"Yeah she's a really great girl," Davy said, "That's why I want to do this. So she could have the best day with me."
"Awe. Young love."
"What?"
"Nothing. Let's go get Molly."
"All right."
"The picnic added just the right touch, didn't it?"
"Yes, it did. We both enjoyed it. Thanks for making keep the idea."
"No problem. Get that girl of yours, Davy."
The man drove Molly to her Aunt's house. As she got out she said, "Thanks for the ride."
"Your welcome, goodbye," the man said.
"Goodbye."
Davy walked her to the door and kissed her.
"Thanks for a great day. I had a great time."
"Your welcome," Davy said.
"See you later. Break a leg for tonight's show. Get plenty of rest."
"I will, thanks,"
"Tell me how it went."
"I will."
"See you later."
"Good night."
Molly went in and told them what happened. Then she called Leighanne and told her about the day.
"That's so sweet. I wish Eric would do that for me," Leighanne said.
"What is someone getting bored?"
"Well, no. I just wish he would take me on a picnic instead of a restaurant."
"Well just be happy with what you have."
"I have to get off Molly and get ready for bed. Talk to you later."
"Me, too. I'm tired from riding today. Talk to you later."
Molly went into her room, changed into her pajamas and went to bed. She thought to herself that this summer has turned out really great. She fell straight to sleep form all the excitement of the day. She was so tired she didn't even tell Jen goodnight when she walked in.
